NEXARS is a research organization and our main mission is to carry out basic and applied research and experimental development and disseminate their results through teaching and education of students, publishing in renowned scientific journals and especially rapid transfer to practice.

FIELDS OF OUR RESEARCH

  • Laboratory for research of the role of the microbiome for human health.
  • Laboratory of development and preparation recombinant proteins for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
  • Laboratory of development and preparation of biocompatible nanomaterials.

We study microorganisms and their metabolites, including prebiotics and postbiotics, in relation to human health.

We are the authors of 18 new microbial strains, of which two original biotechnological production strains are internationally protected under the Patent Procedure under the Budapest Treaty.

For our original strains, we perform shotgun sequencing of the entire genome – a sample of the publication in the GenBank database complete genom sequencing

We develop and prepare recombinant proteins expressed in eukaryotic and prokaryotic expression systems for vaccine development and production. We use modern bioreactors such as “rocking wave”, hollow fiber “and” stirred wessel “.

We cooperate with leading research institutions in the Czech Republic on the design and development of recombinant proteins.

We develop and prepare functionalized biocompatible nanomaterials as API carriers for pharmaceutical applications.

In our laboratory, we use technology that allows us to prepare various types of nanofibrous materials in a unique way by spinning from the free surface of a polymer solution in a strong electrostatic field.

We develop and prepare nanoparticulate drug carriers based on liposomes, lipodiscs and nanolipid emulsions using microfluidic high-pressure homogenization and microfluidic mixing.

In the field of nanotechnologies, we cooperate with renowned institutions in the country and worldwide.

The application of our nanocarriers in medicine is very wide, from vaccinations to the treatment of cancer.

SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL

Our Scientific Council serves as an advisory body for strategic decision-making and concept development. It is composed of experts in the fields of immunology and immunotherapy, bio and nanotechnology, design and development of recombinant proteins, preclinical testing and GMP.
